SpotReader: Quantification of Image Fluorescence for Microarrays
If you intend to run a microarray experiment using chips other than those from
Affymetrix, or you plan to use the spotting robot for any reason, you will need
to do quantification of image fluorescence. If you have had enough of the Sisyphean
work of Quantarray, you might be interested in SpotReader.
Software Demonstration
Ron Ophir from the WIS Bioinformatics Unit will demonstrate SpotReader on Thursday, March 2, at 12:00 in the Computer Room of the Feinberg School. You are invited to come learn about the tool--bring your own data!Features
SpotReader gives truly automatic, high-quality grid creation.
Features include:
- Batch processing of groups of identical arrays
- Automatic and real-time updating of analyses and flagging of bad spots
- Friendly array exploration
- Manual override of automatic calls
Availability and Cost
SpotReader is installed on a PC in Room 109 of the Levine Building. Use is free but you must schedule computer time in advance. To use it, please contact Ron Ophir (contact info is below).
